About us

And now we are thirty…………………

CKS Accountancy was 30 years old on 1st December 2012. The practice was set up by Roger Smith, who was later joined by Andrew Clarke and David Kitchiner. Clarke Kitchiner Smith was quite a mouthful and so CKS was used.

Roger and David have now retired.  They live locally and many clients still meet them socially.  Their client knowledge is still useful  on occasions to Andrew.

Andrew qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1983 and he has 30 years’ experience of advising local businesses, helping them to grow, negotiate the red tape thrust upon them and achieving significant tax savings.

Other team members include Maureen Farrell, who has worked for CKS since 1989, Andrew’s son Jon, who took the final exams in December 2012 to qualify as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2013, Rachel Wheate, a part qualified Chartered Certified Accountant, specialising in payroll services and VAT, Lisa Edwards who provides book-keeping services for clients and Joan Goodfellow who works on Companies House returns, secretarial duties and bakes fantastic cakes!
